This 8th to 11th of June, a training on Integrated Entomological Surveillance was organized in Montpellier, France. The training aimed at strengthening participant’s capacities to analyze and use entomological and environmental data for surveillance, and also included a hands-on module on the use of innovative tools to mobilize citizens and promote collective action.

Over the four training days, the 21 trainees from 15 countries explored technical tools such as GBIF, RStudio, and Arbocarto(R)* to visualize entomological and environmental data, and could engage in discussions and group activities on existing surveillance systems. On the last day, they learned how to facilitate a serious game promoting collective practices to reduce Aedes albopictus mosquito populations : “GaroMoustik”.
